I came to nyc for a breath of inspiration, some work and the highlight was having the opportunity to attend an event where I heard from Bobbi Brown on her journey as an entrepreneur.
As I listened… I got teary…
Entrepreneurship can be lonely but here’s the thing… you can be completely surrounded by people all the while feeling so alone in the job.
your dreams feel too big
your pockets are not deep enough
a few people have told you to not do “it” anymore
After Bobbi sold her business to Estée Lauder, she was an employee to her brand she created for 22 years. She had other ventures and after 25 years from the sale— when her noncompete was up, she launched another beauty brand in 2020.
I’m inspired by her resiliency and belief within herself and her product to step back into the same industry she once created, and said… “I’ll do it again.”
Women like her have paved a path for small fish like me.
If you need a reminder that you can do it again… let her story be a testament to doing it again.
(Side note: my entire make-up bag is now @jonesroadbeauty and it is worth every bit of what it promotes and more)
